Even though I did not know Elaine, my heart is saddened for her family. I have lost those I loved so much also. It is as 1 Corinthians 15:25,26 says, that death is an enemy that we all face. May I share a couple of thoughts from our heavenly Father that can bring us comfort and hope?
Isaiah 25:8 says: "He will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces." We do have that to look forward to because our God "who cannot lie", has promised this.
"If a man die, shall he live again?" asked the man Job long ago. (Job 14:14, King James Version) Perhaps you, too, have wondered this. How would you feel if you knew that a reunion with your loved ones was possible right here on earth under the best of conditions?
Well, the Bible makes the promise: "Your dead ones will live...They will rise up." And the Bible also says: "The righteous themselves will posssess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it." Isaiah 26:19; Psalm 37:29.
It's important that we take in knowledge of the only true God, and of the one whom he sent forth, so we can be with there with them when they are raised from the "memorial tombs". John 17:3; John 5:28,29
