Elsie M. Brian, 76, passed from this troubled world into the peaceful next on September 05, 2013 at home, under the loving, watchful care of New Hope Hospice. She was born on July 07, 1937 in Harper, Kansas, the first born of Floyd and Ivah Mae Martin.
Elsi met James R. Brian in Lawrence, Kasas and after his military assignment they married on September 01, 1957. Together they just celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. Elsi and James moved to Lake Havasu 9 months ago, coming from Quartzsite, AZ. where they lived for 7 years. She did volunteer service in various community projects in Quartzsite.
Elsie's strongest desire was that there would be no "formal" ceremonies of any kind about this event. In her words, "I wish that anyone who might desire to honor my memory do so by taking some time to visit an older relative, a friend, a shut-in, a veteran in a hospital, a stranger in a hospice or a rest home. Go through a family photo album with them, read something to them, or just talk to them and share some happy times and pleasant memories of times gone by."
Elsie is survived by her husband of 56 years, James Brian of Lake Havasu City, AZ.; brother, Everrett Lee Martin of Casa Grande, AZ.; sister, Marietta Kay Gonzales on North Richland Hills, TX.; nieces, Kristi Anne Martin of Casa Grande, AZ., Monica Marie Gardner of Cedar Park, TX. and Kimberly Kay Brown of North Hollywood, CA.; great nephew, Daxton Ramon Brown.
Interment will be held on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Southern Nevada Veteran's Cemetery in Boulder City, NV.
